A Guide to Gummy Bear Implant Sizes
Gummy bear breast implants contain a thicker silicone gel than other implants, which makes them less prone to leaks even in the case of a tear. Additionally, they are available in teardrop shapes as well as round. They’ve been around since 2014, and that track record indicates their safety.
About Breast Implant Sizes
There are five different sizes of gummy bear breast implants:
- Low, 110 cc
- Low Plus, 125 cc
- Moderate, 140 cc
- Full 180 cc
- Extra-full 200 cc
There are variants, too, and some of those go up to 800 cc. The difference in sizes and variants isn’t just about the fullness at the bottom of your breast but also the fullness at the top– the maximum fullness will accentuate the top until it is the same size as the bottom whereas the minimum fullness will keep the top looking slimmer. Also, there are generally three levels of “gumminess.” The easiest way to describe them is “firm,” “firmer,” and “firmest.” “Firmest” creates the most upper pole fullness, which results in more cleavage.
What to Consider
The first thing to think about is what your frame size is and how implants will affect not only your overall appearance but also possible back pain. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with wanting breasts that dramatically contrast with a small frame. We’ll just give you the details of what’s to follow if that’s what you choose to do.
Second, are you physically active? Large breasts may not be conducive to your activity level, such as if you routinely participate in triathlons or contact sports. We’ll discuss your goals and how best to achieve them during our consultations.
How to Prepare
Once you’ve decided to go through the procedure, you will have to stop smoking and drinking alcohol for a few weeks—Dr. Fiorillo will give you the exact time frame. You should also have a complete physical examination from your family doctor, who will consult with us. If you’re going to be under general anesthetic, then all of the normal surgical preparations apply. In any case, you will need to arrange to have someone drive you home from the hospital.
